The world is filled with conflicting information and it's hard to know what to believe, and I hear you. Ultimately, you have to trust your gut (where 90% of your happiness hormones reside) and rely on your instincts to lead you in the right direction. The body itself is the strongest feedback mechanism on the planet and it is crucial that you listen to it. If you eat the Standard American Diet, you get the Standard American Diseases (SAD, quite literally). Prostate, lung, and colorectal cancers  account for an estimated 43% of all cancers diagnosed in men in 2020. For women, the three most common cancers are breast, lung, and colorectal. Approximately 39.5% of men and women will be diagnosed with cancer at some point during their lifetimes (based on 2015–2017 data). ( It is no coincidence that there are 600,000 food items in the American food chain, and 80% of them have added sugars. Sugar has over 200 different names that hide in our food labels and hijack and hack our supercomputer we call the human body. Cancer loves sugar. We are healthy by choice, not by chance.
